Meeting will be held in the large meeting room. Videos will be shown in the museums theater room form 9:15am -10:45 and during any open times. We will break for lunch. We normally go to a near by restaurant. We are considering having lunch brought into the meeting room this year. Because of scheduling problems, 2020’s Dinner-Auction will be held at the Hopedale VFD Social Hall 103 Firehouse Lane Hopedale, OH. The Dinner-Auction will be held on May 9th with doors opening at 4:30pm., dinner at 5:30pm, followed by speaker, and the auction at 7:30pm. The guest speaker will be Chris Runyan President of the Ohio Contractors Association. Something new at the event, will be a “Chinese Auction”. Tickets are $20.00. Locally, they can be purchased for $10.00 each at the Puskarich Public Library 200 E Market St., Cadiz, OH and at the Harrison Visitor Center 143 S. Main St., Cadiz. OH. The 2020 calendars feature the Marion made #5561 “C” 40 cubic yard shovel, “The Wasp”. It began operation in 1949. The Wasp was assembled near the Duncanwood railroad siding. This calendar was sponsored by the Harrison Co. Tourism Council, Leonard and Dolly Ferraro, Sue Adams, Kelley Michelli and Marilyn Monzula.

Just a reminder for those that had made reservations or need to make reservations that the 25th Annual Harrison Coal & Reclamation Historical Park will be held May 11, 2019 at Sally Buffalo Park's Wallace Lodge 100 COLLAGE WAY or 43000 INDUSTRIAL PARK RD, CADIZ, OHIO. This is a reminder for those that had made reservations as far back as February that the event is this Saturday and those who need to make them please get your reservations made. Dinner followed by keynote speaker Steve Hook, Retired Hook will speak and do a PowerPoint presentation about the life & times of Central Ohio Coal Company's Big Muskie the worlds largest dragline ever built. 2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the dedication of Big Muskie held May 22, 1969. THE CENTRAL OHIO COAL COMPANY IS FAMOUS FOR HAVING BIG MUSKIE THE WORLDS LARGEST WALKING DRAGLINE EVER BUILT, HAVING MANY DRAGLINES, SHOVELS, & THE MUSKINGUM ELECTRIC RAILROAD HOOK is a RETIRED CENTRAL OHIO COAL COMPANY ENGINEER & CURRENT MORGAN COUNTY, OHIO ENGINEER. HOOK AND HIS WIFE MICHELLE LIVE IN MORGAN COUNTY, OHIO. HOOK LOGGED 33 YEARS WITH AEP, VIRTIALLY ALL OF IT AT CENTRAL OHIO COAL COMPANY, WHERE HE HELD STINTS AS RECLAMATION ENGINEER, ENGINEERING SUPERINTENDENT, AND OPERATIONS SUPERINTENDENT BEFORE HIS RETIREMENT. HAS BEEN MORGAN COUNTY ENGINEER SINCE 2005 AND IS RESPONSIBLE FOR MAINTAINING OVER 342 MILES OF ROADS & 210 BRIDGES. Farm Bureau and 4-H all his life and we look forward to him providing some fun on the auction block. Some items to auctioned are a hand crafted American Flag made of wood designed to hang on a wall by Jeff Roscoe, local chainsaw artist of JR Creations and a chainsaw sculpture of a bear with hard hat & miners light donated by local chainsaw artist Dan Kidd, of Conotton Creek Woodworks.
